3Rivers has added a new hiking trail to it’s already-large assortment of trails on offer. Andy Wesson and his team built the trails, spending countless hours on its construction. The trail traverses through the mountains and valleys of the Van Stadens range. It is not fully marked yet but can be viewed on the electronic map. Hikers will be able to find their way easily with the use of Google Maps or Trailforks. All hikes start from the Puttergill farm dam but hikers will need to sign in at the Crossways trailhead and obtain a permit to enter through the Sunnyside entrance to the Puttergill farm.
The hike goes to the trig beacon on top of the Crossways mountain and is 7.3 kilometres long. Hikers should budget approximately 3 to 4 hrs to complete the entire loop.
