3Rivers has added a new hiking trail to it’s already-large assortment of trails on offer. The trails have been built by Andy Wesson and his team – who have put countless hours into its construction – and traverse through the mountains and valleys of the Van Stadens range. It is not fully marked yet but can be viewed on the electronic map meaning hikers should easily be able to find their way with the use of Google Maps. All hikes start from the Puttergill farm dam but hikers will need to sign in at the Crossways trailhead and obtain permission to enter through the Sunnyside entrance to the Puttergill farm. This can easily be done by phoning one of the contact numbers on the route boards at the trail head.
The hike goes to the trig beacon on top of the Crossways mountain and is 7.3 kilometres long. Hikers should budget approximately 3 to 4 hrs to complete the entire loop.
